Ever had that feeling in the pit of your stomach as your thoughts danced on how much of a failure you were while doing anything? We have all seen horrible days when it seems like we can’t get anything right. That comes with the territory of life, too. In those moments it gets harder to complete any task because our minds just keep singing the same tune. But, there are many objective lessons in failures. Failure teaches us that we only fail when we quit.
It is a horrible lesson to learn because of what we go through as everything we plan and try to do falls flat. I have my moments. Things might get redundant or stagnant (using my big words). While life does not play fair, and it doesn’t have to; we don’t have to comply with how we feel because we failed to get a result we wanted.
Attempting to do anything requires a certain level of patience and perseverance anyway. We fail a lot because we must learn how to do things we do. Granted, there are people who attempt stuff, and get it right the first time. We still learn from the mistakes we make, and we should try even if we feel like total losers.
What am I talking about? Any goal we have our minds set on we should attempt. We might not have all the resources readily available and that may sound like a good enough excuse. But if we quit off that excuse we’ve already failed.
Here is something that is true; “faith is the evidence of things hoped for”. I read that in the Bible and have learned to apply that word to life. As a believer in the word of God, Yeshuah (Jesus Christ), I have read Hebrews 11 verse 1 many times in the past and didn’t fully get it until one day, I asked. Understanding must have smacked me upside the head after the hundredth time reading it.
When we have a vision (Something we want to do or see ourselves doing), we must apply what we know to our attempts; that means we gotta do what we gotta do, it’s an OG thing called, action. When we have a goal in life we must believe that we can get there. Believers know we can because of every promise God gives us through Yeshuah (Jesus). I’m now one of those crazy people who don’t just have a positive attitude. I believe God who told us through the elder “All things work together for the good of us who love God and are called according to his purpose”.
Since I’m a believer called to His purpose, I move in faith in the things God has assigned me to do. How do I know what God assigned me? “Man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps”, and “Let us make man in our image and in our likeness”. Faith tested can and will seem like failure because we make a lot of mistakes. I can’t count the number of times the Lord has corrected my efforts on just about everything.
But if we don’t try, there is nothing to bless and no promise to gain. We gain life and life is made for us to live. That means, as people who believe, God saved us for His kingdom and our lives right here on this earth is to be lived in a way that exemplifies God.
While that does not guarantee we will succeed at everything we do in this life, it means that if I’m still alive, I’m willing to try. Through trial and error, I have come to recognize that failure is sometimes the classroom we really need. Success is a great thing, but most of the time we learn patience and perseverance through failure; and how to manage our emotions and life, in general.
But the most important thing I’ve learned from this new way of thinking is, I can only fail if I quit trying. That also means I fail if I don’t use the God-given talents I’ve been given to set the visions I’m given, in motion. It’s a tough life and we must make tough decisions each and every day. Some will seem counter and some are hard to move.
The important thing is not to get hung up on succeeding or failing, because we will accomplish whatever we will accomplish at the right time. Enjoy the lessons and the attempts you’ll make instead. We might not always look good, and we might not always look like we’re on top. But I have learned that when we are careful to do the things we have to do, things tend to work out for the best.
When we give up and throw in the towel, well, it is best to examine the outcome for the lessons we can get from them. And believe me, there are times to throw in the towel and just breath and allow the Lord to work out the details for us. That is called knowing my limits, but I still want that win.
I hope this motivates at least one person to just do it, like those guys would say. Whatever you’re facing, don’t give up. If your thoughts are dancing on failure don’t quit. Look for the solution or the lesson in your thing. Got questions about anything I wrote today, just send a message and ask.
