We often forget what the road was like after we’ve made it home
The struggle to understand the pain
The reasons for the failures and missing pieces
All of the things that are now gone
Memories fading to twilight
Years suddenly over in the blink of an eye
But now we’re here in a place we’ve clambered and climbed to
The hard parts are over for us and we don’t need to consider
The ones climbing the ladder now
How long did it take, twenty, forty, sixty years
We’re perfected though so they should buck up and lift their load
Don’t talk about how hard it is
Just get tough and get through it
But there is one problem.
We see most who forgot their climb and only recognize their perfection
Stay getting some harsh lessons they don’t seem to understand
It is always important to help the ones behind climb
That is how we all begin to heal
Those who understand the way of peace
Giving up parts of their comforts to the ones slowly climbing the old hill
After all, there was someone who did it so we could stand tall
Those just starting sometimes only need to know they’re not doing so bad
