The Simple Work of Being Saved

Being saved in Christ does not cost money. If anyone adds cash value for your salvation, turn and run because Jesus Christ paid the cost for all of us. Being saved is meant to be simple without having to guess or jump through hoops that corrupt truth; a double-edged sword that could bewilder those who live for elaborate experiences; impossible for anyone who needs an exorbitant price-tag to enjoy the life-altering experience of salvation – a boon for the one who says yes to Jesus; and still simple enough that children understand that believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved.

How to be saved
You only need to believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God to be saved and confess your belief with your own lips. The Bible says that “if you believe in the Son of God, you will be saved. Then we are asked to confirm our belief by being baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Lord said, “I will not give my glory to another or my praise to worthless idols”, meaning, all the work of being saved has already been done by Jesus, so we only believe in Him. All the glory belongs to God. If anyone adds another requirement that is on them. If you choose to accept any added requirement that is on you. Only believe.

So why be Good
God has said, I desire mercy and not sacrifice. When we understand what the Lord means by this word, we see the beauty of God. Jesus was sent by God to cover the cost of our salvation, so we only believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and savior. To submit to Christ and keep his commandments is beneficial to those who are being changed from the inside out by the Holy Spirit of God. After all, it is written in Ecclesiastes 12:14, God will bring every deed into judgment, whether it is good or evil. Give mercy and you will be given mercy. Show love and you will be given love. Judge and you will be judged for your own acts in this life.

Choose how you live wisely
The way you live toward others, the same way you will be judged at the time of Jesus’ coming. “A good measure, pressed down, shaken together” as it is written. “For with the same measure you use, so will it be measured back to you also”. The lessons found in the Bible teach us that living a good life is beneficial to each of us. The closer we grow to the likeness of God through His Spirit, the more we understand why. There we can see for ourselves, the beauty of God’s character.
