Observe. The words you use to think and the words you speak can affect your day-to-day life. The words we use can shape habits and direct how we act. They can also become our repeated actions, which is why mentoring is a good way to help people grow. Words can be like food, but for our souls.
A long time ago, the smart people figured out that the words we use repeatedly program our habits and behaviors. It is true for almost anything we do, and I have written a similar piece.
The words we use feed our souls. We can choose to feed our souls with words that tear us and others down, or we can choose to use words that build. There is a lot that can be said and disputed about words and people, but consider that marketing strategies have been used for generations, and their main strategy has not changed.
Marketing uses pictures and words in order to create a desire in you for a product. Most of the time, we don’t even need the product until we see marketing. Suddenly, we understand that we need that product, whatever that product is.
Repeated often, words can take up residence in our minds. Once those words are lodged in our brains, they can form our habits and responses. Then those habits with the words, like those coupled with pictures, can tell us what we will do in certain situations or how we will use the things we have.
That makes it important to master the use of words for life. When we take time to learn how to use words properly, we can change the way we view life and how we react. The truest use of words shows us truth.
It is like reading that the Bible, the word of God, “Is a light on our path and a lamp to our feet”. Over life we can build a large vocabulary of words that we don’t know how to use. But the author of words shows us the most important use of words. They can change our whole direction in life.
Some words can give us a whole new identity. That is because some words have power and authority behind them. When we use these words appropriately, we give our hearts what it needs to heal and change from its current setting.
The word of God, found in the Bible, is such words. While we can repeat affirmations, the words found in the Bible tell us who we are and reveal our purpose. Having a solid identity gives us confidence in what we do and how we live our lives, regardless of our feelings and circumstances.
That is because the words of the Bible teach us to lay down the old way of living in hopeless bliss. With the words we can learn on our own, sure, we can become quite successful in life by training our minds to think a certain way, and our bodies may follow.
But the words found written in the Bible tell us about our history, our present, and our future. When we believe and practice the words of the Bible, we gain understanding and wisdom to live life a bit differently. The world we see is full of violence, and the reasons for the corruption we see going on.
The words of the Bible, the Word of God, teach us why it is important to leave those things behind. The word of God also tells us that if we believe God, our lives are not hopeless. In fact, those who believe what God commanded His people to write down learn about a life that is unending, because God commanded it.
In the Bible also contains instructions for everyday living.
The words we use to think and speak lay down a path for us to walk in every moment of every day. Our feelings can drag the worst words into strings that lead us into depression or anxiety, where we could have spoken life into our day. When we use the words of God we find pleasant reminders of how we got here and our purpose in life.
Those who apply the words they learn in the Bible to their living get peace in life. Not that we don’t face problems. But there is a peace that comes from getting to know God and bonding with him as a Father and Lord to us. God teaches those who believe about this life and the expectations of eternal life.
Words can shape our experiences with people, with things, with life in general. It is good to learn to speak positivity into our being. But the truth often leads us to new ways of thinking without much effort on our own, and there is a reason for that; God wants the best outcome for us, so that we can praise him and exalt Him, which is what we were made to do because we are created for Him.
That word that leads us to the knowledge of God can change everything we believe we know about this world. It can show us the reasons for the things we see and the horrid sufferings we see and go through. The right word can also alleviate us of the pain of feeling hopeless when we struggle in life.
The right words can also lead us to our purpose in life. That was to take care of the earth and run it with the responsibility of those who own the planet. With the words of knowledge, we come to know that we are not random, nor are we aimless.
So, the words we use can have a significant impact on how we behave. The next time you have an awful thought, try correcting it and keep correcting it. Build a vocabulary that says you want the truth and you will walk as if you were created to be somebody on earth. Think about the words you use to think and speak.
