Peace In The Thick Of The Battle

It takes a lot to stand up some days. Life is tough. We all have days when we just don’t want to move. That feeling can last a second or a long time. There is nothing like realizing our own bodies are fighting us to see who is going to blink first. Often, we hear about depression and other mental health struggles and look at some people who almost never seem to be down. But, we were never promised an easy life if we believe in Yeshuah (Jesus).

Here is the truth, John 16:33, Jesus (Yeshuah) tells believers we’re going to face trouble in this lifetime. It would be great if we could live trouble-free. But trouble is an effect of the sin Adam committed when he disobeyed God. But, the Lord Yeshuah did tell us He would leave us His peace, and at the end of John 16:33, he says to have courage because He already overcame the world.

No real pastor will ever attempt to convince someone that they won’t have problems in this life because they are believers. All true believers know that God hates lying. We also know that those who preach / teach are responsible for misleading anyone. God loves even the worst of us who believe in Him, so to cause anyone to be lost by lying carries a cost we don’t want to pay.

But in the thick of the storms of life, God is with us. We know He is because He said he would be. Matthew 28:20, Jesus says He is with believers always. In the old days He says it this way, “I am with you wherever you go”.

Because of the promise of God’s peace through Yeshuah and the promise to be with us wherever we go, we preach faith in times of trouble. Not the absence of trouble, but keep faith no matter how bad it gets. Because of the word, we go through trouble expecting to be brough through the troubles, whatever they are.

And in the thick of the battles our God is with us. One of the ways God carries us through the troubles we face is to help us mature in the storms. While most people in life decry the problems they face, we believers should develop an attitude of celebration in trouble. James 1 verse 2 says it plainly, “count it all joy when we fall into various troubles”.

Our faith, what we believe and how we live can have great affects on us in times of trouble. Make no mistake, I can whine with the best of em. But there are days a hallelujah will be the complaint I give because I live believing the Lord will rescue me from my troubles because he said He would and has proven many times.

When we celebrate by praising the Lord when trouble comes, it helps with the depressive feelings that often flow with bad times. Imagine being able to have a good laugh knowing that you have to face an unpleasant problem. But God works in us to mature us in His Spirit and His word and I love writing about it.

To a believer that has been through problems and been transformed, over time… Trouble is a classroom where the believer learns to regulate life by the word of God, Yeshuah. We call on His name and come to know He hears us because He’s walking beside us. It’s not only the big moments, but from the beginning God has shown that He wants to be involved in life with us, even the little things.

“Let us make man in our image and in our likeness”, God said before He created the first Man, Adam. From then, God settled to call us His own and treats us like it before we even know Him. Imagine, He sent Yeshuah (Jesus) as our payment for the penalty of sin, which is death. God loved the world (us) so much that He sent His only Son into the world to pay the price.

As hard as it is to face life sometimes, being able to believe God and to do the will of God and the word of God makes it a little easier to face. Yeshuah (Jesus) the Lord is ever present when we believe and if we hold onto the things that He says then we may get to understand His presence when we face problems. God is that God, the one who never leaves.
