The Story Of A Man

“What is man that you are mindful of him. The son of man, that you care for him?” This includes women, so don’t get all huffy, just read and bear with me. If you’ve ever wondered about the meaning of life, this is worth your time.

There is a story about mankind, our whole world. God said, “let us make man in our image and in our likeness. Let him have dominion over all the earth and over all that is in the earth. The birds, the sea creatures, the beasts, and creeping things.” Reality is interesting. It’s nothing like the “real world” with all its trappings.

When most of us open our eyes in the morning we see the “real world”. But if we could see reality, our vision hits different. Reality is like a little bit of sci-fi meets the real world. Reality is built on the solid foundation of a word that was established before time. That word said, “let us…” they are words that shaped everything we see and know, and continues to do so.

This God put his hands in the dirt and shaped man from it, and then breathed life into His creation. Then God said his creation was very good. But God and the man He made had a falling out shortly after. That falling out shaped everything we go through today in the real world. In the real world we have murders, rapes, fatherless/motherless children, men buy sex from the women, mistreat each other even though we produce each other, women and men compete for power. It’s a bit messy.

But God cared for the man and the children that came from the man & woman. That God came down to earth in the body of a man, born from that man’s daughter and restored the children of the man to His kingdom, only, most of us don’t know the whole story. We hear about things like going to church and being saved and salvation. But many miss the part about the kingdom that God came to restore… to man and man to Himself.

So what is man that God is mindful of him? The lump of clay that God formed and breathed life into, God called His son. When we turn back to the kingdom of God we are given a new life and a promise of immortality in the kingdom of heaven. We are given information about what is going on in the real world. Why does God care so much about man? We only know that God loves. He chose to love mankind as His own children and hopes the ones he calls turns back to Him.

While we don’t have a handle on what the kingdom of heaven will look like without all the craziness we see going on in the news; we are assured that if we believe God we can live in the kingdom of God. God did not wait, but said through the man, Jesus Christ whom He sent, that the kingdom of heaven is inside our hearts.

The culture of the man who believes God and follows His word begins in the heart. When a man believes God, God gives that man the power to live like he believes God. Many hear the message and run trying to live out their own version of good to prove themselves to God, but God only asked us to believe, we got nothing to prove. If we love him we will keep His commands, according to John 14:15. Jesus Explains why, by saying “I chose you and appointed you to bear fruit”, in John 15:16. That is what God works out in our hearts.

That is how much God cares for man. The man God has chosen will change willingly when the work God is doing in his heart begins to prosper and grow. We are not good by nature, but the new nature God gives us makes us good. That is the version of good that God wants inside the man he chooses. The power God gives his children to live the new life allows the man to resist his old nature and do what God wants.

It’s not easy and we have bumps and bruises. We struggle. We suffer, some worse than others. But we have a mark of love toward one another. No, it doesn’t always look the same and sometimes it might look a little crooked. But what God gives to those He loves will always shine forward so others can see when they test them.

The day God said, let us make man in our own image; we became a living being. Then God went into action and shaped us and gave us life. That is because when God speaks everything He says begins to happen. The power of God over His people is that He spoke over those who are His and those who believe will accomplish all that God says we will. Salvation and fruit (heart) fit for His kingdom.

What is man that you are mindful of Him? It is because of the Son of Man that God is willing to take us back into His kingdom. Jesus Christ laid down His life so that we would not have to die the eternal death because of sin. That means when we believe God and fall asleep (die) in this age, we will wake up one day to the new age with God. Then we have a chance to know the fullness of what God has done.

But while we are alive even now, the culture of the kingdom of heaven can be carried and shined like a light into the world of destruction we’ve become accustomed to calling the real world. The real world with all its wicked vices and divergent ways will not make it to the new earth and heavens. And all that God asks is that we believe him and turn from our own ways toward His.
