Fear has a funny way of distorting the truth, to be a narrative against the truth. When we come to know the love of God and Jesus Christ, fear affects us because we are willing to let it affect us. Fear is the lie of a liar, but God is still God. When you are no longer willing to let fear stand between you and God, you will realize the many benefits God has given us, in His loving son Jesus Christ, our holy and anointed Messiah.
Accepted by God denied by fear
The fear that tells you that God won’t accept you, comes from the lie of a liar. God accepted you when He sent Jesus to suffer, die, and be resurrected for all our salvation. Sin ruled for a time until Jesus came into the world for the purpose of salvation; His resurrection giving us dominion over sin; Jesus fulfilled for us what God said to Cain in Genesis 4:7 “Sin desires to have you but you must have dominion over it”. If you repent, God will restore you so that you may serve him (Jeremiah 15:19), and “as far as the east is from the west, so far have I removed your sins” (Psalms 103:12). The fear that tells you God won’t accept you or forgive you because of your mistakes and decisions, is a liar. “Come onto me all you who labor and are weary, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28), Jesus said. A call to every human on earth with the breath of life still in them. You only need to accept the invitation and believe in Jesus and you are forgiven, testified to by the blood of Jesus Christ (*Isaiah 55:1-6, John 4:14).
What does it mean to Worship
Worship him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). God who is a Spirit desires the kind of worshipers who worship Him in Spirit and truth. The fear that says you can’t worship God if you’re not part of a church is a lie straight from a liar. Worshiping God begins in our hearts; let the word of God fill you (open the Bible & your heart), the words of God are life, seek them out and fill your heart; worship. Learn about Jesus Christ, the eternal promise of God, and believe in him. Worship. Love the Lord the Almighty God, love him within your heart, with the love God freely gives you. Worship. Pray your prayers to God through your fears, your falling short, and your life in Jesus’s name. Worship. Ask the Lord, in Jesus’ name to change your life to help you with violence, debauchery, anxieties, addictions, or anything you struggle with, instead of trying to do it on your own and trust Him (1 Peter 4:4). Worship. Come to God and reverence Him as a Father because He has calls us His children, in Jesus Christ. Worship. Find a church to share worship with others. Fellowship worshipers. Fear telling you that you can’t worship God, is a lie from a liar, and a thief. God desires children who worship Him in truth and Spirit, in Jesus Christ His Loving Son.
What part does Baptism Play
The fear that tells you that you have to be a good human to be baptized is a vicious lie from the Devil. That is the Father of lies, Jesus says (John 8:44) You ought to want to be, and to strive to follow the commandments of the Lord; each Apostle makes it clear in their epistles what we ought to do. If you want to be a good human, trust in the righteousness of Jesus Christ, He will put His love in your heart so you can live according to the will of God. We all come up short, being human we are tempted to transgress (Job 2:3, Matthew 16:23, Luke 22:31). God forgives, in Jesus, His strength will help you (2nd Corinthians 12:9). If you are ready to be committed God, in Christ, go to the water and be baptized in order to confirm your fielty to God. You don’t need to “make yourself ready” because you are justified by God when you believe in Jesus; God accepts us as we are and works in our hearts to bear fruit worthy of repentance for the rest of our lives. You don’t need to be made right, make that good decision by faith. The Lord who makes us right in his sight. You only need to believe in Jesus Christ; that God sent him into the world and raised him from the dead. The fear that tells you that you cannot be baptized because you’re not ready is a lie. Believe in Jesus and be baptized, the Lord has done the work. “In Jesus Christ”, is the “complete” you want to be.
Might and Strength of the Flesh
The fear that tells you that you have to be strong is a deceiver. “Not by might or by power”, says the Lord “but by my Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6). Jesus confirms the Holy Spirit would come to us to teach us all things that God has spoken, and that the Son of God has said (John 14:26). Take the Spirit of God, in love, in Jesus Christ as your might and strength and accept the peace of God in Jesus (John 14:27). The fear that tells you that you have to be strong is a deceiver. Find your strength in the love of God instead of flexing, which causes contention and problems.
Forgiveness
We were born in sin and all of us fall short of God’s standards, but forgiven in Jesus. God forgave all sins by the Acts of Jesus Christ (Luke 9:56). The fear that tells you that you won’t be forgiven is deception to keep you hiding from God’s grace and forgiveness. Confess that Jesus Christ, the son of God, is Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9). Believe it in your heart. Keep praying to God in Jesus’ name. You don’t need to wait on anyone on earth to intercede for you, though it is good to have a brother or sister in Christ praying for you or with you. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God and interceding for us (Matthew 24:64, Hebrews 1:13, Psalms 110:1). Look to the word of God when you feel like you need forgiveness. Keep studying God’s word so that what you learn won’t be stolen. The fear that tells you that you won’t be forgiven is deception. Don’t fall for it, God forgives us when we believe in Jesus – the bible says there is no condemnation in Jesus.
Seek God
The fear that tells you that God will not answer you is a liar and a thief. Seek God with your heart. In fact, seek God within your heart, your whole heart (Jeremiah 29:13). Pray to him in Jesus’ name. Believe that He will answer and He will come to you and lead you to the Rock that is higher (Psalms 61:2). It is also written “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart (Jeremiah 29:13)”. Fear or anyone who says you’re wasting your time seeking God is a liar and a thief. And God has said, in Christ, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).
Fear impacts life in some unimaginable ways until we see the truth; Fear can cause murder, violence, confusion, overcompensating for masculinity/femininity, and a long list of things we don’t want. But the fear that keeps you from talking to God is the most devious. Read the Bible from beginning to end and you will see; page after page; that God is calling, inviting, and extolling us to come to Him. Jesus Christ the son of God is the answer to fear (John 3:15, 1st John 3:12). Believe in Jesus and talk to God. When you talk to God you will find a Father who is unashamed to come to you in whatever shape your life is in, despite whatever people believe or say about you. Jehovah the God of infinite love is the God who calls you day and night hoping you will return to him (Hebrews 4:7-8). That is what fear is trying to steal from you.
The Truth of Jesus Christ
Two things you should realize for yourself; God will not force you to accept forgiveness through the grace given to us in, Jesus Christ. In Jesus, God will not refuse you or turn you away when you come to him, whatever your past or circumstance (John 6:37). The choice is yours, you only need to talk to God, in the name of Jesus Christ his Son and seek Him with your heart (Jeremiah 29:13).
And the truth that fear doesn’t want you to understand: In the Messiah, there is no fear when you believe (1st John 4:18). There is love. Love tosses out the fear. You can love the Lord with the Love God gives you through His son, Jesus Christ. In this Love of God as you mature in His son Jesus, you can do all things because Jesus Christ will strengthen you (Philippians 4:13). The Good you want to be, you are able to be in Christ. At peace (John 14:27, Isaiah 42:13-14). In Love (John 13:34).
