Words are potent. In fact, words have killed more people on earth than any other weapon man has made for war. But it was the first word that brought life and life is worth living right. Words aren’t as simple as writings on a piece of paper. Words are the drivers behind the things we think and do. Words are power.
The first words used to kill anyone was recorded in the Bible, Genesis three. We’re introduced to the first weapon ever used against mankind. Since then words have killed a numberless amount. The words recorded in Genesis three have been passed down through the generations of mankind. They have produced death and misery on a global scale.
Words can be a catalyst for healing. The world could benefit from healing. When we have the right words we can change a lot of things that seem to be wrong. The ones that stay inside our heads are the primary ones that need some adjustment; these lead to words and actions taken. Internal words can be deadly because they sometimes come from outside.
But here is a little secret; Our source of words allow us to live what we believe. When we have a good source we have potent words that can be helpful. Source of words can bring us freedom or leave us at the mercy of errant thoughts.
While the source of words doesn’t always determine life or death; a better quality source of words will always produce a better quality life. We struggle with so many things that wear us down everyday. Words that identify who we are and what we’re about can take us from down in the dumps to striving in good health. Words is where out thought life exist.
What are sources of words? Things like people, the dictionary, library, schools, churches, the Bible, and more. But the better sources define words in ways that inspire and empower us to live in ways that express life. My source of words teaches me that a best practice is sometimes to sit in silence and pay attention.
Silence contains words and answers we can’t find running to the sources of words to find. In silence we get to define the value of words and see their truth. We also learn how to use words correctly, in silence.
As we learn to use words wisely, they become life for us and people we interact with. When we learn to use words to build even those competing against us, we learn community. This is where we don’t have to “come out on top”, if we can understand the outcomes in words.
The words we use shape or break our lives each day we are fortunate enough to wake up. Through words we are empowered to live or to sulk. When we have a source of the words of life we carry those thoughts and fight off the words that come to drag us down. With words of life we also develop better vision for living.
