Repent, the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.
I’m sure almost, if not all people on earth have heard about the kingdom of heaven. Some circles say we’re going to live in heaven. But the kingdom of heaven was established right here on earth the day Jesus rose from the dead. In the book of Revelation, we are told, some believers in Christ would go to heaven. That is for one thousand years, and then we come back to earth for the judgment of those who will be destroyed along with Satan.
There are a lot of doctrines today in a lot of denominations of many churches. Some of those doctrines tell us we have to do good deeds to get into heaven; lots of other things if you follow certain ideals and doctrines.
But God makes it plain when Jesus is quoted in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” Depending on our circle, we can be fed many beliefs about heaven. But the only way is to believe in Jesus Christ. Revelation 20 verses 5 and 6 testify about the one thousand years believers will spend with Christ in heaven during the first resurrection and judgment of the righteous.
Is this unfair or unreal in some way? No. Mankind is born to die because of Adam’s sin. Those who believe in Jesus Christ are restored to God and have the hope of living forever in the new heavens and earth. What does that look like? No one knows yet. We know that the kingdom of heaven will have a New Jerusalem and less water.
The kingdom of heaven has been growing since Jesus resurrected and returned to heaven. In that time, there have been heresies and wars, conquests, enslavement, perversions, and wickedness. But “woe unto the man whom the Lord comes and finds abusing his brother,” and to the ones through whom sin comes.
The kingdom of God is among you. If anyone tells you of deeds or works to get there, that gospel is not solid. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way, and you are invited. We receive the hope of life by believing and living out that belief in the name of Jesus Christ.
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near you today.
