The righteous may fall seven times but will rise again (Proverbs 24:16).
The Bible is filled with instructions & encouragement for those willing to believe. God’s perfect instructions to us. Because of the corruption of life, we tumble and fall over the course of life. There are too many reasons for these pitfalls to count. The way we respond to falling is impactful to our next encounter.
This life can be like having a heartache for no reason with no solution in sight. When we fall it is sometimes worse than physical pain. Our life experiences will always come with some feelings attached. We can use those experiences and feelings to either train us to get back up or train us to be victims of life events.
Imagine living with a mind that constantly sees things going wrong with everything? That is a mind ready to hold people down for the beating life has for them. I know because I used to be at war with my thoughts. I won some and some won for most of my life. After coming to my senses, I spent time learning an important lesson.
People who trust God and have an active prayer life are prepared to actively respond to life and its bag of kicks. And we will struggle with our thoughts still. But with the confidence to be honest.
In the Bible, the book of Job talks about someone who wasn’t quite ready for some events in his life. But Job had an active prayer life and trusted in God. In the story, Job loses all his possessions, children, wealth, and health to some serious misfortune. Job waited on God through the ordeal, although he had some complaints.
In the end God rescues Job from the ordeal. God also restores what Job lost and gave him double children and possessions for what he lost. The story isn’t about Job’s possessions or losses though. The story shows us what can happen if we believe God and trust Him during our toughest moments in life.
Like Job, there are people today who have huge losses or get critically sick, or worse. If we’re fortunate enough to be able to talk to people who come through the worst of the worst, they will have a lot to say about how they made it. Those experiences can be valuable to a lot of people.
The people who believe God and pray, lift God up when asked how we made it through. We can tell you what God did for us because we know what we prayed for and how the Lord rescued us. We do this because we know that God wants to save others who will believe and call on His name. Those testimonials can lead others to God to trust in Him in their time of need. Our testimonies get real because we know that God would love if those who heard our stories, believe and turn to Him so he could save them.
The main difference between people who believe God and those who don’t is simple. People who believe in God give God the credit, because He deserves it and His mission is more important than ours. Our story can be a great benefit that could introduce someone to God. When we rise through prayer and faith in God, the stories are great lessons we can use to show people the truth.
To be fair, life can strike at any time. We can be doing anything. It can strike at anyone without reason. One moment we’re enjoying life, suddenly we’re holding a bag of woes. We all get the same treatment from life, although it seems like some of us have it all together. Our stories can help us see that; we all fall sometimes.
People who have an active prayer life and trust in the Lord do not stay down when life gets rough. If we read the Bible, we see that righteous people, people who believe God, live the life of overcoming. We don’t always live comfortable lives, but we know we can trust the Lord to be with us because He said he is.
God created us to stand on our feet and to trust Him with life. When hardship comes, people who believe God begin to pray because as often as they fall, faith in God instills courage and confidence. We look to God’s instruction for the life we’re living. In fact, Jesus Christ told us to have courage because He overcame the world.
When we run into trouble, that courage reminds us to just hold course and have faith in Jesus. As chaotic as life gets we have an expectation, because of what God has said and, as we live, we experience the word of God coming through in real-time. Hardships don’t kill us, though it does try. We rise from our hardships stronger and with the lessons and reminders that the Lord is with us.
We struggle a bit different when we know that Jesus Christ is on our side. And there are times when we do endure some tragic hardship. We become stronger each time we get back up. The lord not only walks in out troubles with us but also empowers us to stand in courage.
We may fall seven times, but we live knowing we won’t be crushed by life. Even if we die, we have the expectation of life with God. So we live growing stronger each day, Our strength isn’t in our bodies but in the Spirit God places in us when we believe Him.
Standing after a fall begins with a lot of praying. It may seem like we’re iron warriors sometimes by the way we talk or live, but we go through hard days. Falling down many times has taught us that in prayer and in God’s time He will lift us up. If He doesn’t then we are assured that at the resurrection we will rise. So we know that whatever holds us down today will be overcome soon.
