Sometimes we only need a little more energy to live the life we’re living. To some it may seem like a simple thing. To those of us who struggle just to wake up sometimes, we know better. Of course, almost everybody has that struggle sometimes. Wishing only works in the movies.
For the rest of us putting in the work in anything is the best policy. No one else is going to do it for us. I’ve lived long enough to see that even people who get lucky breaks fall flat at times and need a pick-me-up. The rest of the time they are busy living and sorting out their lives or helping their family or friends.
But what about those of us who live life moment by moment just hoping to survive? The best advice to offer is to begin to change your mind. The life we want begins with us, in us. It is not in some random event that’s going to come out of thin air.
People who have a spiritual life can tell you that getting over our lackluster lives requires us to change our minds. We see things from the perspective of what God has said about the people who believe Him. So, we have our minds changed as we mature in the truth of life.
Before that though we struggled with our thoughts of life. We struggled with our thought process even now. But we know that changing our minds creates a shift in life. That is because our thought life greatly affects how we interact with reality and what we expect from it. We also don’t get too bent out of shape when things don’t quite go our way.
When we change our minds though, we find that life has dividends we may not know about because of our outlook. Adjusted correctly our minds can create great opportunities for us to live that energy filled life instead of being prisoners to our thoughts.
As Jesus told us through His word, “I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly, in John 10 verse 10. The best change of mind is to realize the gift of life is a precious possession God decided to give us and live it according to His word. When our minds are primed to live, we may get to see every opportunity God sets before us and live so that others can see and grow in that light.
