Purpose; The Aimless Story

An aimless life

An aimless life can give you endless pleasures, for sure. But it also comes with some deadly pitfalls; one of them being that you may end up feeling hopeless after you’ve run out of vices to keep you occupied, or while you’re in between pleasures. Ask any well-to-do person who has attempted suicide or who uses medication to keep up their fun image.

Being free-spirited can provide you with numerous activities to keep you occupied when you’re alone. But these things tend to run dry, and then we need something else. Otherwise, we end up feeling hopeless, anxious, irritated, or other things. That’s just life.

As an artist and writer, I have both seen and heard many things that ended up being creative fodder. But one of the things I got from creativity is that we need purpose to fuel our creativity or face the dreaded block. Writers call it writer’s block. That is when creativity shuts itself down and refuses to go jolly hunting with you. Those are days when getting up from a chair can feel like a chore. The same goes for sitting down.

An aimless life has no real destination; the next adventure or the next deception is the reward for those dazed by the aimless life. But at some point, the aimless life does start to run out of fuel. Sometimes that forces us to look back and see missed opportunities that pull us down, or missing places that have been reshaped or bulldozed by progress.

Nothing in society stays the same. Forests get cut down, houses get sold and rebuilt, landmarks get damaged, people move on, we mature, and pleasures can get old.

Purpose

But people who discover a purpose for their lives find Truth and joy that can’t be replaced. One of the most important things any human being can do for themselves is to discover a purpose and pursue it.

The aimless life can seem flattering and produce things to talk about, but a life driven by purpose is a life filled with information that will help many. Along the way, we may find many people who pursue life differently.

There is also the purpose of life filled with the Truth. Often, when we live aimlessly and without purpose, we tend to miss some important things. With our minds locked in on the next adventure, we may completely miss our calling to life.

Those fortunate enough may not be so distracted that they are deaf to the call of life. That is, God calls and wants to share His knowledge with you. One of the most important things to discover is truth. No one can make you accept the truth or pursue it, but for the aimless who has no passion but the next adventure, truth is an awesome discovery.

The Knowledge of God and Purpose

The life that is renewed by answering the call to the knowledge of God can be completely transformed. No longer will you wander aimlessly, but you can wander filled with eyes that discover the old way. Plus, when we have the truth, it can change the way we view the world and certain things in it.

But the real reason is that a purpose given by God is filled with things to discover. A person with a purpose tends to strategize their adventures to be in place to find information to help them develop their purpose. That can take us far out of our way to places we would not have gone.

Adventure through the eyes of purpose is far different. We don’t need lore in order to pursue a specific spot. Instead, we gravitate toward people. New friendships, conversations, being visible, or even helping someone in need.

While there is nothing wrong with those who live the aimless life. A life filled with purpose can change the perspective of the ones struggling with loss of appetite for adventure. It can give you a glimpse of a different life if you pursue knowledge rather than pleasure. As it is, information is one of the most crucial things on earth.

The right information can save your life in a critical time of need. Purpose takes away the loneliness that drives us to hide away sometimes; the feeling we keep hidden away for when we are alone. Those who pursue the knowledge of God and believe in God are given peace. We can also get a newness of life and an understanding that cannot be reasoned away.

Those who seek purpose rather than pleasure always have a destination. That direction can lead us to encounters that lead to searches for knowledge and answers. So, there is almost always a mission that comes with a purpose. Does your life have a purpose?
