Knowledge is the Key to an Abundant Life

When we know who we are we grow up in confidence every day. We are also able to do things we used to think were impossible. There really is nothing impossible for us in the right environment.

Those who know themselves will do well in life. Those who follow the Lord will continue to rise. It should be mantras for living an abundant life. It is just one discovery in being free and being able to think without being anxious about everything. We see our value. As a man who believes in Jesus Christ, I see my value in the word of God from my beginning to my end. Each day grows better even under duress and what used to stress me.

Life can become complicated for all of us. It used to be for me. It can become easier to get a handle on our destination in each moment. There was a time my focus was on what I was facing, so everything looked like a mountain. But while following the Lord these couple years I learned something important. Everything I want to do in life became possible and hardships started providing lessons as they challenged my character.

Obstacles, they say; when we contend with life without knowledge it is difficult to know what happens. We tend to look at life daily, yet we carry our problems into the next day on repeat. That makes life really hard.

But here is a truth we can all discover on our own, if we’re willing to look past our biases. Life can be lived when we have purpose and the answers to what life is supposed to be. My journey into life has been eye-opening. Life, the life I used to live was full of everything everyone chases after. Happiness. Some money to pay my bills. Maybe a good wife. Kids was a must. Fun/ time to do my artwork.

Coming to terms with who we are, has a dramatic effect on our worldview. Our minds are bombarded by millions of messages per second. All of these can have an impact in shaping how we respond and interact with life. Some destroy our immune to other messages.

The mind largely works this way; whatever you feed your mind, it feeds you when you’re trying to live. That premise also applies to what you read, listen to, watch, and interact with; including people. So, it is important to consume the right type of information.

Most of us are free to consume whatever type of information we want. But the information that builds us and our character is best. A lot of people go through extravagant lengths to get information. We look for teachers who give us the best information about the type of lifestyle we want to live. Is there anything wrong with that? No. but…

There is information that fits everything we do as a people; it corrects us of the things that make us anxious if we’re willing to follow what we learn. It also removes trauma, because of the things we can do with the information we find. Of all the knowledge I have chased and philosophized, consumed and tinkered with; none have been more accurate about life than what the Bible teaches. None!

While there are many arguments about the Bible and Churches, I’m only going to focus on the Bible and the author. God inspired our ancestors to write what is found in the Bible for us, and generations that follow us. Psalms says, “The word of God is pure, like silver, refined in a furnace of earth seven times”. When we think about refined silver, we know impurities have been removed from the silver using a hot furnace.

The word of the Bible have been instrumental in a lot of what we see today. But when we believe what is written and put it to good use, the words of the Bible changes us from the inside out. That means, it gets into our thoughts and hearts if we are willing to accept the truth we find as we study the Bible. God, who inspired the Bible works on the hearts of those who believe Him and can give us new ways of thinking and looking at life.

God created mankind (that’s us) for a purpose; to rule earth and live together. We had our own ideas, and we can see it is not working out so good. But, the laws and rules we make runs the whole world. If you’re able to understand that it speaks volumes to how we live and what is happening.

But God also made a way for us to be in His kingdom. That way is to believe in Jesus Christ. That is, it! How do you believe if you have never read and tested the Bible? How can you understand what is in the Bible if you don’t know anyone God has given the understanding of what is in the Bible? How do you know where to find the kingdom of God without the Bible?

Many people are turned away from what is in the Bible because of other people’s experience or, a bad experience with church people. But those who investigate the Bible for themselves with an open mind to know God, find truth. Spending time with God also opens the way to discovering who God says we are.

When we give God the chance to show us the way into His kingdom, we also get information about who we are. Who God created to be. What is our purpose in life? To that end, when I began to understand what I was reading I dedicated myself to studying the Bible and learning, and discovered a teacher who gave instructions that we can’t find from any guru or mentor on earth.

Armed with this information, we can learn to pray and learn to apply the information to how we live. How we think. How we interact with the world around us. The discovery is life changing. The more we allow the information in the Bible to shape us, we move in another direction; empowered to live a purpose driven life.

When we discover who we are and what we are meant to do, it changes our character and our attitude; I have problems and down days like everyone else, but I don’t live there. My past is dead to me. While my memories sometimes bring me back, I prefer to focus on the moment I’m living in, so I can continue learning and becoming who Jesus says I am.

While results may vary due to our beliefs and faith; giving God a chance to shape you to be who He wants you to be, rather than the aimless life can change everything. Discovering that I had a purpose that had been planned from the beginning of time, made me want to change. Made me want to learn what God wanted for me as a man.

These days my art and my writing are being used to share the truth about God, about His kingdom and about Jesus Christ, the way to God. The possibilities for life are boundless in this knowledge that I get from the Lord.

Knowing who I am, has empowered me to do the things I was called to do, instead of having to continually bend my will to information from TV, Videos, books, companies, or people. My focus is on learning and exploring and maturing into doing what God has for me to do. While I can’t say I get it right all the time or I don’t screw up; I’m living a life far better than I used to and I am healing because I don’t stress as much over things that used to wear me down.

The more we discover who we are, we can live the life we have in mind to live. When the word of God shapes us for life, we move a little different. That is because the information from the sources around us won’t have as much of an impact as it does when we don’t know who we are. Built on solid foundation, we won’t move too far from the truth and we stand on principles.

We can also stand on truth arrogant people, who pass for confident cannot. With God we worry less about life, because we now who is in control of life. We also get to know what “death is only the beginning” really means, so you can even lose the fear of death. You can test these things for yourself by getting yourself a Bible an spending some time studying it or asking one of us, who God teaches what’s in there.
