How Can Life Get Better?

Sometimes life feels like black clouds and intense rain. Life isn’t fair and it doesn’t have to be. There is nothing in the human manual that says so. While we’re down it can seem like life has forgotten us; like it gives everything good to someone else and sends rain to us. It makes us at times ask if life can get any worse. But if we only look around, we can see other people having worse days.

How can life get better?

Life is a funny thing. We make choices and we live out the consequences, good or bad. We make choices and we are responsible for the outcomes. That’s how we see things turning out for everyone. Some people just seem to have it good. They get everything.

But if we’re asking the right questions, life can take on new meaning for us. It is important to understand that wherever our minds tend to wander, we tend to find that path. That means if we are prone to think the worst, we will find the worst ways to come bad outcomes.

While even positive minded people have bad days, it is not just thinking positively that changes our direction in life. Actively setting our minds on the things we want to happen can help shape our lives for the better. That is because when our minds get accustomed to looking forward, it begins move from wanting to action.

Wanting a better life is one thing, actively considering what we want out of life and allowing our minds to create steps is a great way to make life better. Positive thinking alone will not get you anything but thoughts.

Changing Your Mind to change your life

A mind full of experiences will have a lot to consider when facing adversity. A mind free from the past, however, will be free to take advantage of change. A lot of life happens in our minds before we act. The quality of our thoughts ultimately guides our reactions to the activities of life. Change requires us to change our minds first.

A mind ready for change will burst with ideas from all the information readily available to it. We are made to do these things. To create and to change and to live. When we are able to control our thoughts, our lives will change with it. Our actions change based on our thought process because our actions change to match.

Spiritual change

We can become potent people. But change in the spiritual sense is much better because we gain understanding we can’t without it. The word of God for me is the authority on anything spiritual. That is because I believe, as the Bible says, God created everything and sent Jesus Christ to redeem mankind. That’s us. It is a great story until you get into the truth.

When we begin to investigate the Bible, things can feel chaotic. But the more time I have spent in the Bible, the more I’ve invested time in getting to know God through His word is the more my life has changed for the better. That is because the Bible is filled with the truth of life. Most people won’t discover that because we allow outside influences, people, and experiences to shape our belief.

When we give ourselves over to the word of God, believe the word, and allow God to shape our minds things change. We become a bit more mentally stable and so, are able to do live in the circumstances we must live through.

A better-quality thought-life also develops. Our thoughts are no longer bound by experience or circumstances or our feelings. We instead consider the word of God in every aspect of life and, over time, live freely in real-time.

Can God make our lives better?

The simple answer is yes. But every person will see things differently and everything takes time to develop.

Change is not easy or simple. It took years to leave anxiety and other negatives behind. The same can be said for the behaviors that used to come on because of anxiety. Living by the word of God has helped me shed my past and traumas from then. Believing the word of God, I realized I had a healer who spoke life over me. Strength where I was once weak. Wisdom where I’d been an idiot.

God changes those who believe in Him from the inside out. My circumstances didn’t all suddenly change. The Lord changed my heart and helped me get courage, put love in where a lone wolf used to be, vision where creativity got stuck. Truth where collected knowledge used to sit.

Can we all change?

Yes. But it is us who must be willing to change. At the end of the day no one is going to force us to do what we don’t want to do. God does not force us to accept him or believe Him either. We make our choices and live accordingly.

We can all change, no matter how old. If we move according to what we believe will take place. If we live according to experience, then we will always be beasts of burden. I have found it better to be willing to live according to the truth. Once I found the truth I pursued and so began to change for the better.

If you want to change, ponder your thought-life. What are the thoughts you catch yourself thinking about? That is usually a clue into what can change and how. There are simple exercises that we can do to effect change if we remember that change takes time.
