Emanicapte Your Mind

The most potent tool mankind has is our mind. Anyone can test this theory. Everything we do begins in the mind. A thought. A vision. An inkling of a future. Our reactions. Our mind is filled with information, and we can keep adding. For the most part we follow along with the things we see people doing because we’re meant to interact and learn from one another.

For some, the information we have in our minds can be burdensome; misery, memories of bad things, traumas, unfulfilled desires and what nots – there are lists of useless information in some of us and in others harmful information.

These types of information can lead to doubts, depression, and other diseases of the mind. The cure can cost a pretty penny in today’s ‘pay me’ society, which can add more worries. This can lead to laws being needed or other supplemental actions to offset the stress caused by our fixes. But what if there was a better way?

For those who believe in God, we can tell you stories of overcoming thoughts; thoughts we sometimes don’t even know about. Those can wreak havoc on our everyday choices. That is the reality of the most power tool we have – whatever we feed it is what we will be fed.

Guard your heart diligently, because all your life’s issues come out of it, Proverb 4:23 informs. How does someone guard their hearts? It is important to understand this proverb because it can change everything you thought you knew about life. Guarding your heart is a way of saying, choose carefully what you let in your ears, your eyes because it goes in your heart.

Your heart is synonymous with your mind; Therefore, whatever you allow into your mind will affect your thinking process. Some information stays in your mind whether you want it to or not. Forget that nonsense you hear about bad short-term memory; learn something today. When your mind is poisoned with information you allow by what you watch, listen to, and interact with, you’re really telling your soul how you want to live.

This stuff gets into your subconscious and controls what you do to some extent. Bob Marley sang a song that begins “emancipate yourself from mental slavery” because he was smart enough to have figured out what was up. It is a truth we all need to pay attention to. When we blindly follow others even though we don’t like what they’re doing, we know that some type of marketing is at play.

The best recourse is to feed your mind what you want. The Truth is a great meal to consume for your mental health. There is no better medicine than the truth. The truth found in the Bible can drive out those thoughts we don’t want, if we are willing. The words of the Bible, the testimony of God and His Spirit can change our minds about many things. Teach you things you never even considered.

Proverb 3:5-7 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not to lean on our own understanding. That is because when we open the word of God for understanding and intently search the words and believe God, we see the world for what it is. We can then understand why so much of the information in the world causes us mental dis-ease.

Here is the truth; God in the beginning gave mankind, that’s us, dominion (rulership) of earth. Before that, He created these bodies for us and breathed life into them. What that means is, we get to decide what we want inside our minds and how we want to behave. We have no obligation to follow the crowd or unwanted information.

Those who believe in God can turn ourselves over to God. That means we get to study the word of God in detail and learn how to practice doing the word of God. We can then apply what we learn to the way we live. But something interesting happens even before we learn how to apply the words to our lives.

Those who study the Bible a few times a week come to understand what’s in it begin to change from the inside out. Again, willingness to believe what is written, and to follow the commands of the word of God is important. Those who are willing have their minds changed and some things removed sometimes, along with behavioral changes; mainly for the better.

There are people who do not change. Most of those who do not change either don’t want to, or they don’t understand what they’re reading. But everyone who applies themselves to the study of the word of God diligently guards their hearts, because the word of God is like a guiding light.

How can we emancipate our minds?

The words of life, found in the gospel, in the Bible and in scripture (the full bible) changes those who believe God. That is because God said He would do it, in Ezekiel 36verse 26 for those who want the lowdown. The words of the Bible, when accepted writes on our hearts the words God spoke about us.

Armed with the knowledge of God, over time in continual study, belief, faith, and applying the word, we change. The Bible tells us that God is the one who works in us to do the good works we’re called to do. That means, you don’t have to be good or make yourself good. God does that for those who believe Him.

I’m free, now what?

Well, when we’re free we can live a life, we could not before. Of course, that doesn’t mean we don’t make mistakes or bad choices. This means that we now have the capacity to refuse to live the way we used to. We have the capacity to work through fear because we believe God and know the thing will work out despite how we feel.

People who are free, do free people things. That means, sometimes we hang on in a bad situation because we know if we endure and hold onto faith, God will move for us. It takes a lot of pressure off knowing that God takes care of His people.

When we are free; we are able to fully understand the life we live now. We can also learn the full message of the gospel, which is a call to come into the kingdom of God. Genesis 2 gives us a glimpse of what the kingdom of God is supposed to be. Earth, ruled by people in place of God, who sits as king over His people.

We are, after all made in the image of God. What that entails I’ll share as I learn. Come get the word of God and emancipate yourself from the harmful messages all around you.
