Effecting Outlook & Vision

Our outlook on life can determine our willingness to do the stuff life demands. Positive outlooks have more energy for living. It’s a known fact. We don’t have to spend too much energy scheming when we can envision outcomes and steps we can act on. But poor vision and outlook is detrimental to the things we do.

Try feeding information to someone who only sees failure. Even if they fight to see positive outcomes, there’s usually no vision. So, they procrastinate until the last minute or time has already passed. Worst if our circumstances aren’t ideal for what we have in mind.

There are a lot of people driven by their circumstances rather than a vision or purpose. The people who have a vision or a purpose in life know the result and so, spend time trying to see the solutions and steps they need to take. Yeah, there are obstacles when we set out to do stuff, but, that’s what makes the project fun if you have a vision.

People who have negative outlooks will find problems for every solution. Vision gives us the clarity we need to scream “battle” when we see obstacles, because we know there are going to be some valuable lessons. Might be painful. But obstacles are like a fun classroom set just for the occasion.

So, if we’re among the people who see failure in every task, can we change? There was a time I was among the procrastinators. I was a writer then. I dabbled in so many things I used them as excuses for not getting everything done or getting stuck.

And that is the sad reality of having a vision with a poor outlook; you can become stuck at the most critical moments of any project. Then anxiety and doubts creep in. But if we are willing to change out minds and adapt our approach we can change everything.

How do we do that? Become an active planner. An active planner not only sees the vision but takes not of the steps it takes to get there. Then we sit down and pencil out a basic plan and let the rest form as we go.

The reality of life is, we might fail sometimes. But vision and purpose clears our reality for the truth. Truth is an interesting thing. When we are adapted to the truth, our reality shifts and we can focus on the things we set out to do without worrying. Truth, tells me that I am able to do anything. God said “nothing will be impossible to the one who believes”.

As a believer who has been put through the refiner and still being worked on, we can acknowledge that often times poor outlook starts with our attitude. We might not be lazy people, in fact, we can be great workers on the job. Still, it doesn’t translate into getting things done. It just says we can do structured work.

But with our faith in God and His word, our outlooks can shift on a dime from thinking we’re about to hit rock bottom.

When we adjust our outlook to the results, things can change. Our vision can create a purpose in whatever we’re doing because we know the destination. If we can see the result then we’re only an attitude adjustment away from an outlook that says, we will get there.
