Delayed Results: Action

Actions speak louder than words should be a proverb because it is the truth. When it comes to the results, feelings, or keeping our word it is especially true. We cannot always get what we want out of any circumstance, but, our character is usually on full display in times when we’re pressed. When failure lurks in the corners of our minds.

Most people think failure is an unwanted result. True failure is mostly our inability to accept the results of our actions. We live our lives full of regret over things we didn’t get or are unwilling to learn from a failed attempt at anything.

Thoughts of delayed results were discussed in an article recently. In the article, we discussed when failure is not always the end result of an act. For those who are willing to learn and expand; failure can be a launchpad for many victories. The reality of life is this; those who turn themselves over to the Lord understand that life can often present many challenges we must face. But those who submit their plans to the Lord have different thoughts that hinge on the word of God.

While we struggle like everyone else, we struggle different. That is because we do not trust in our own strength, and as believers understand that our lives are in the hands of the Lord. No, we do not always win, according to what society calls winning. But we do win.

Often times when we, as people set out to do things, we want the results we want. We strive to get the results we want. Not to brag, but being a believer in Christ we know that even in death we have a victory given to us so we face life emboldened. When we do not get the results we can turn to God and seek knowledge instead of hanging our heads.

Our prayers go straight to God, who has promised to be with us in trouble. God who is willing to be with us, also helps us by directing our steps. Though the outcomes don’t always go our way, we can be sure that if we present our works to God, the Lord will direct every action we take. That means that when we lose, we have a great opportunity to learn and grow because the Spirit of the Lord counsels us in everything.

If we don’t get the results we want, we are at peace because we know who is in control. Our minds can, if we submit ourselves to Jesus, becomes new with new thoughts. These new thoughts are full of hope in everything. When we “lose” our minds, do not dwell on the hopelessness of our circumstances but on the promises of God.

Living this way brings a newness to our minds and hearts that help us to remain focused on the purpose of our lives no matter what life hands us. When we are able to give ourselves over to the word of God to develop in His ways our hearts and thoughts, even about success and failures, change.

I know, this is for believers but it is not a sermon; this is a testimony of what can happen when we fully give ourselves over to God. There are many success stories out there with and without; for those who believe in God and for those who don’t. The difference between the groups is this: believers always have hope of a better life after we die. Non-believers only have this life.

We are not more special than non-believers; we choose to believe God because when we search for Him in earnestness, God reveals Himself to us. He teaches us a new way of living if we are willing to believe in Him. He gives us a new heart and new ways of thinking. The word of God is the primary knowledge we gain. This knowledge helps us to understand that the word of God IS life.

Armed with this knowledge we can grow closer to the Lord, because He not only calls all of us to believe, but God is willing to share more knowledge about life with us. The meaning of life. Why did he sacrifice for us? In this knowledge, we gain a powerful mind, a powerful Spirit, and renewed vigor for life.

It isn’t always pretty because there are a lot of obstacles and trials we go through. But, as the Lord lives, and helps us to live in The Truth; we learn to accept our outcomes and our lives because we live for the world to come. That is, after we have died and the Lord returns we will live in a world ruled without evil.

Having the knowledge of God, forgiveness, and salvation brings us into a new life. In this life God, who is with us, helps us to understand everything. While it would be great to be rescued from everything, we still have trouble like everybody else. But Jesus did say “nothing will be impossible for the one who believes”. That is something each reader will have to prove for themselves.

We still have delayed results too. We don’t always get what we want. The things we get are the things we need. But when we put our hands to work and believe, we get the outcomes. We just gain true knowledge where people who do not believe get knowledge from the world. But the knowledge of God helps us to navigate life, its oppressions, anxieties, and problems in ways we cannot without God.

In Christ, a delayed or failed result can become our greatest asset. If we are willing to learn from the things we go through and take action on what we can; there is nothing impossible to us. Jesus said it best “there will be nothing impossible for the one who believes”. At this short hour in earth’s history, God is calling believers who are willing to walk right. He has prepared a kingdom for those who are willing to believe and come to Him through Jesus Christ, whom God sent to redeem the world for Eternity and the kingdom of heaven.
